This EP follows the concept of creating a sonification/VERKLANGLICHUNG of the two department store fires that took place in Frankfurt, Germany in early April of 1968, set by Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin (soon-to-be founders of the Red Army Faction/R.A.F.) and two others.

This particular event was chosen as the main inspiration, as it marks the transition of Germany's 1960s student movement from peacefully rebellious, to more and more radical, due to different factors. As mentioned above, it involved later founders of the R.A.F., who went on to be Germany's most wanted and died in prison in 1977. The department store fires were an early act of militant resistance, causing damage worth an estimated amount of 740.000€, without harming anyone. It could be considered the most successful and, in a way, most peaceful action of this sort, before one half of the movement turned unbearably radical and the other half faded into conformism.

Fascination with this movement and event, followed by the idea to create music based on an historic event, even better with a political focus, is what led to the result; this EP.
